Parks and gardens around Lyons Andelle

 Arboretum of Lyons-la-Forêt

The astonishing diversity of trees will be displayed by multicolour leaves, the rich barks and the beautiful perspective that trees offer.
The Arboretum is open to everyone, all year long. It is now one of the flagship sites of the Pays de Lyons-la-Forêt thanks to the French National Forestry and Water Commission, the local community and the locals and their associations, who care for nature, and more specifically for this magnificent forest.

Throughout the years, this old forest nursery was turnt in 1981 into an Arboretum, which has become a place for events and animation. The natural heritage, culture and relaxation are at the heart of these events: horse skidding, forest’s day, Qi gong lessons…

Vascoeuil Castle’s park

In a natural site situated at the border of Lyons’ forest and at the heart of the Andelle valley, the château de Vascoeuil displays its regular, French garden and the English park bordered by meanderings and waterfalls of the river Crevon. The alleys are bordered with beech trees. The park is a real “open-air” gallery, with permanent sculptures of more than 60 sculptures made in bronze, marble, mosaic and ceramic.

Vascoeuil is a member of “Parks and Gardens of Normandy”. It is a centre of art and history (Museum Jules Michelet), and hosts temporary exhibitions. The octagonal tower is from the 12th century, the castle (ISMH) is from the 15th century, and the dove tower from the 17th century.

Le Jardin des sculptures, château de Bois-Guilbert

This seven hectares park is a hymn to nature and to sculpture. Jean-Marc de Pas, landscape artist and sculptor, has created in the heart of this family estate, a vast idyllic sculpture park, a poetic walk and landscape garden where art and nature transport the walker through a reverie of changing symbolic spaces around the château, chapel and pavilion of the 17th & 18th centuries.  The family domain is surrounded by a chestnut from the 17th century, symbolic spaces, the pond with its small island, the maze and even the four season cloister. The estate has played host to the poet and playwright Pierre Corneille, a cousin of the family’s ancestors.

Since 1993, the association supports a artistic and cultural project for the site.

The castle is open for visiting (free visit or guided tour) with temporary exhibitions in the art gallery.

Others services : art exhibitions, cultural events, educational activities, clay modelling workshop, technical workshop.
You can rent the park, reception rooms, seminars, cocktail, wedding photo shoot.
