Originally a military stronghold, this noble house became a rural pleasure house and then a writer's house in the 19th century with the presence of Jules Michelet (1798-1874) and his family.
Nowadays it is a renowned Art Centre.

Remarkable brick dovecote (17th century) and medieval octagonal tower (12th century) of the castle (ISMH). Modern sculpture park, French garden (1774) and English garden.
Michelet Museum in an outbuilding and the historian's study reconstituted at the top of the tower.

Exhibitions by well-known artists, seasonal events and musical evenings.
Exhibition 2022 "Super Erro" from 16 April to 13 November.

Tea room - restaurant "La Cascade". Shop and bookshop. Free parking.
